If it is... that's some crazy voltage and binning going on... 1.60V? Remember, 1.2V is JEDEC nominal voltage.

These DiMMs remind me of the "good old days", with insanely overclocked and overvolted OCZ memory kits.

B die has been known to scale well with upping voltage up to and even beyond 1.5V. That is why I figured it might be that. Or maybe something new? IDK

Isn’t this what Rocket Lake needs for max memory OC due to its memory divider? I seem to remember something funky about memory speeds with those CPUs…

Actual hot deals on memory with 16GB kits falling below $70 right now again on NewEgg.

Thank goodness, but bought a bunch at about $70 per 16 GB…

Heh... "Good Old Days" - when OCZ might work, or might not. I had some of that stuff (still do, somewhere)... the much better days where the days of the 4GB Samsung Magic RAM sticks. $20 each, and they just worked like a treat. No fancy heat spreaders.

I had to return a Mushkin DDR4 3600 kit when it failed to clock to specs (actually couldn't manage above 2666) on my B550 MB w/ a 5900X. Replaced it with G.Skill which worked perfectly at the rated speed.

I hope DDR5 gets a lot of this stuff sorted out. XMP vs. DOCP... what a mess. You shouldn't have to worry about Intel vs AMD compatibility with DDR4 memory.

I think I have 8 sticks of that DDR3 if thats the stuff you are talking about.

I'm sure it is. Samsung jumped out of the RAM business right after putting that out, which I always found odd. It was hugely popular, probably very profitable, never had any issues, and yet they dropped it like a hot potato at the peak of that division's most successful product. Strange.

I am pretty sure they still make ram…

Filtering RAM by Samsung on NewEgg returns tons of products, including DDR4.

Interesting... I was sure the "Magic" 4GB DDR3 RAM sticks were the end of the line for them. Perhaps it was the last truly great deal on RAM (reliable memory, at that).

Samsung did get out of the HDD business... or did I imagine that too? Maybe I'm conflating it with that? In my defense, I am getting kind of old these days.

Dude, I remember way back in the day I found some .. Kingmax? PC150 Sdram. I got a pair of 128MB sticks and ran an OC Tualatin P3 at 166FSB with 1:1 memory, 9.5 multi for ~1.6Ghz and it was FAST lol. Like noticably faster than my Athlon 1.4 and brothers Willamette 2Ghz.

I love oddball fast ram stuff.

Yeah was pretty nice. I think it was low voltage as well. Like 1.8-1.9V
