From what I have read in this forum in other threads... G. Skill customer support for their other products (System Memory) seems to be good...

$1.65/gb

Not bad for a high end SSD. As tempting as this is I kind of want to wait until BF and more details on Gen 3 controllers.

Somebody convince me not to buy this :O.

I suppose the biggest barrier is that I don't have time for a complete Windows reinstall right now. I feel like software should exist (or that somebody could write it) to move a Windows install/system files to a new SSD, and move all secondary applications to a second hard drive... But I can't find anything. Does this exist?

Of coarse I know what you mean, but if my above post isn't enough, a Win7 install takes 8-10 minutes on this drive.....!

I know other drives come with that data link/software that does exactly what you are wanting. I do not know if they have anything separate though. I thought I read somewhere yesterday that there is some free software that works well and can do the same thing; just can"t recall where I saw it.

I'm just worried about the data loss issue with Sf drives. This is a damn good price though.

I slept on it, and it was OOS come morning. Must be a sign :D.

Well, it's back in stock. I'd say it's a sign. Hit it! :awe:

Huh??.....just noticed "This item can only be purchased with a combo". When did Newegg start that crap?

Hmm... I thought the Phoenix Pro series was the Vertex 2 equivalant, thus SF-1500?

Vertex 2 is SF-1200 and so is the Phoenix Pro. Same drive for the most part, except G.Skill must be doing something different (right). They don't have near the percentage of failure that the Vertex 2 does from what I have read.

The Vertex 2 uses an SF-1200SE controller instead of the standard SF-1200. That may be the source of the problems that the OCZ drives are having.

Could be to prevent use of the coupon code.

a bigger n better deal will come soon my friends
Theres always a bigger & better deal coming soon. No matter when someone buys something; it always ends up cheaper within the near future. Its a never ending battle.

does that mean the Phoenix is only equivilent to the agility series?

I bit last night; hoping not to have any problems. This will be my first ssd:biggrin:
