Just wanted to know if anybody had any experience with G.skill's 2x2gb PC2-6400 ram. Can it reach 450mhz easily? Or would I have to get the PC2-8000 one instead to reach that speed?

They're the same price right now on Newegg. I've heard they're essentially the same RAM, but I can't confirm that.

my DDR2-1000 (PC2-8000)G.Skill says PC2-6400 in CPU-Z so mine are probably just higher binned modules that can clock higher.

if you're lucky you can probably hit DDR2 500 speeds. (should be pretty easy to do)

My PC6400 G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ will do 485 or 490/DDR 980ish @ 2.0v. My set of PC8000 F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ will do at least 530/1060 DDR, but I haven't seen how far I can push it yet. Notice that they are the same part number exactly, except for the speed rating. I personally believe they have identical IC's, but don't know that for sure. It's very likely, though, because there are very few 2GB sticks with IC's that overclock well.

450mhz should be doable with 2.1v and CL5 timings, but no guarantees. but ddr2 pc8500+ is pretty much factory verified oc'ed 800mhz chips.

It'll do DDR2-900, yes.

As has been mentioned, it's basically the same PSC ICs as G.Skill has in the DDR2-1000 PQs (& most of their other 2x2 GB kits).
It's binned a bit lower is all, so while i'd expect DDR2-1000 to be doable, i wouldn't count on a lot more without some luck.

I have the same kit in my secondary system, & it does at least DDR2-1000 5-5-5...i haven't bothered trying for more.
