I had some stability issues when using a divider with my G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 500 (PC 4000) ram. Well I did some Googling and I heard that some of the kits were being sent out with the wrong "auto" settings of 3-3-3-7 instead of 3-4-4-8 which is printed on the sticker. So I checked my own auto settings with Everest (and also my post screen) and this ram was actually running at 3-3-3-7. I had the timings in my Bios set to auto and just assumed that they would run at stock. WTF, I guess I should pay more attention to my post screen.
In case anyone is curious about my divider-stability issues when used at the incorrect settings:
-With no divider, the memory was stable upto 267mhz
-When used with the 180(9/10) divider I would fail memtest at 240mhz
-When used with the 166(6/6) divider I was prime and memtest stable at 236mhz
