Alright all, here are the contestants:

G.SKILL 2x1GB DDR 400 2-3-2-5 $214 on sale -- couple of NewEgg reviews says it breaks DDR500 speeds nicely at a little better timings than the memory below:

G.SKILL "Extreme" 2x1GB DDR500 3-4-4-8 $233 -- I read an actual review of this here and it did quite nicely. My only conundrum is below:

Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB DDR500 -- These sticks are pretty much the sh!t for 2GB kits (short of the OCZ, which is OOS everywhere), but no way in hell I'm spending $300 on it. However, I can get these for like $270 shipped. In looking at the G.SKILL DDR500 at a price of $233, I think "For $40 more I can have tha sh!t."

I would like to go with the $214 G.SKILL, but I can't find a real review on how it performs. Help?

Thanks, I found a review of that here:

Looks like a decent set, better timings, but I'd prefer no rebates and will be running either 236 or 260 on this mem, which if the G.SKILL hits 260 that's great but otherwise it should do 236 w/the same timings as the Patriot. Do you have any experience with that RAM yourself?

F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ is my standard 2GB ram recommendation :)

The OCZ isn't out of stock everywhere either.

Last I'd heard it was OOS most places, and costs $300 anyway. For that much I'd get the Crucial ;)

I really thought about the 4000, but I figured I have a very good chance at hitting 260 on the DDR400 and for $220 shipped 3-day w/rush order on NewEgg I can't beat it. I've already spent so much on this rig, I can't justify the extra money for a little more RAM bandwidth :D

Wow, nice price  I would've searched around more, but I need this soon so I figured I can pay a wee bit more ;)

Nice OC on that 170 too! Mine is barely prime stable @ 260, but that MIGHT have had something to do with my Corsair RAM. We'll see :)
