An emerging high-speed Internet standard in Europe may hold potential for faster download speeds and broader availability for many U.S. businesses--if they're willing to wait awhile. Although DSL speeds vary widely, the new G.SHDSL is potentially two to three times faster than most versions of DSL targeted at business customers. The G.SHDSL standard can deliver data farther than earlier DSL technologies, which are limited by distance.

I can't get the link to work
The distance is good.
But what do you mean by potetially 2- 3 times faster then most versions?
Todays technology can get more that 2- 3 times faster.

Also I don't think thats really enough for wild popularity.
Cable and DSL offered up to 200 times more bandwidth. 2 - 3 isn't that much of an advantage.
