This is happenning more and more and it's driving me nuts...

Click a link, check it out, click the back button to go back to where I was. Nothing happens. Click back button again, nothing happens. Click the little down arrow next to the back button to see the page history, and find one or two "phantom" facebook URLs between the site I clicked to and the site I want to return to. The back button is navigating to these phantom URLs and doing nothing. The urls look like this:

http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.ph
http://www.facebook.com/extern/login_st

Now I've never been a facebook user and never will be. But this pos website seems to be hijacking the entire internet. Is this problem due to bad web design? Is there some setting where I can avoid this crap screwing with proper operation of my back button? I'm using IE, which may be the problem in the first place.

Thanks for the help!

Sounds like you're the victim of facebook's own redirecting services. Still, odd issue.

it's because of stuff like this that i'm de-activating my Facebook account.

but first i have to give a forwarding email to my Facebook friends.

you know, Facebook claims to have 500 million users.

Right Click and select open in new tab.

I usually have the same problem when ads change. Clicking "back" gets the previous ad.

I have that problem too.. Facebook has become a once or twice a week kind of thing for me now.. I used to check it twice a day at least.
