Here are some links of updates you might want to install for Win2K. The numbers indicate the general order of installation. The Microsoft VIA chipset update and VIA's 4in1 are for VIA chipset boards only. Also the Soundblaster drivers are for... you guess it, SB-Live cards.

1. Windows 2000 SP1 (note on how to... Slipstreaming Win2k SP1)

2. Windows 2000 VIA AGP Chipset Driver update [Q261606_W2K_SP2_x86_en.EXE

3. Windows 2000 Compatibility update (March 2001 - release 6)

4. VIA 4in1 Service Pack 4.29

5. NVIDIA's Detonator 6.50 Windows 2000 Display Drivers

6. Sound Blaster Live! Drivers update (00-07-11) SBLW-2KDRV-W1-US

7. DirectX 8.0a for Windows 2000

8. Windows 2000 High Encryption Pack to get 128-bit security

Good luck, Olias

I'd say the proper order would be 1,2,3,8,7,4,5,6 but then I don't do your exact setup.

Another FYI: If you're going to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer, I'd install that right after the SP1 and the hotfixes, since IE updates a number of system components.

I've found that installing the Via 4in1 drivers right after SP1
seems to help stability with my system. I get the essentials installed
then start with video and sound drivers etc.

naw he's got it right. that's good order. Everything related to the OS should go first like you have it.
