FYI:thermal grease (like Arctic Silver) "not" recommend by AMD

Here a quote from AMD, "AMD absolutely DOES NOT recommend thermal grease and would rather one uses phase change thermal compound",Apparently the grease doesn't hold up under the heat and heatsink tension. The expansion and contraction of the two surfaces during on/off cycles causes a "pumping action" that pumps the thermal compound out from on top of the die. Ouch!

Don't shoot the messenger. 😉

You don't need to post in more than one forum (especially with incorrect information).

Arctic Silver II is thermal compound, not thermal grease (as I explained in the other post of the same subject).

DClark.....(Arctic Silver II is thermal compound, not thermal grease )

Ok!But it's still not recommend for use by AMD on their CPUs.

I dont' realy give a f*ck about what AMD recommend ! ...so far the themperatures are 7/celsius less with the Arctic Silver II and this give a better stability and long life to CPU .

Anyway as far as i know, AMD doesnt even recommend overclocking your processor. So breaking another rule wont hurt😀:Q.

Thanks for the reminder though!
