FYI: Soltek SLK8TPro-939 & XP-120

Just an FYI ladies and gents:

The ThermalRight XP-120 fits fine on my SLK8TPro-939, no bending of caps or obstruction of DIMM slots, however I'd advise filling the RAM prior, since it may be a bit tough otherwise to put a DIMM with a heatspreader inside afterwards.

Temperatures for an A64 3000 @ 235x9x1.4Vx800LDT are 27C idle, 32C load all with a Panaflo M1A, 4x 80mm Vantec Stealths (to be replaced with Panaflow highs once a retailer with a Hardcano 13 gets one in stock). (running a beta BIOS, otherwise the temps are well..wacky).

It's a thing of beauty alright. Bravo Soltek and ThermalRight.

where did you get the beta bios

I emailed , regarding a few issues, one was that my OCZ ram won't do anything other than Auto (which Everest shows at 2T), 1T just halts the machine, even at it's stock timings and no overclock.

The second was the well-known temperature issue, false reports, etc. I don't generally believe anything I have right now, since between Everest, MBM5, SpeedFan, the BIOS, the Soltek HM utility, the CPU range is about 20C. SO i gave up and emailed them for the bios.

Scared me first thing after flashing it. Beep beep beep beep...
Pulled the reset jumper, then it booted in it's safe config mode. Since then, I'm flying at my 235x9 overclock right now 🙂

I'd like to add that the XP-120 also fits perfectly on the Soltek SL-K890Pro-939, which is the PCI express compatible version of VIA's new chipset.
