I have an Acer 8432IA and it does not read these. If you have had this problem as well, it is not your burner... Regardless of the brand of the burner... From what sources have said the are made by PNY for the Depot...
 
PNY doesn't make thier own blank cd...they bought them from company in taiwan...which are the biggest suppliers for blank cd...
