I just a new cpu/mobo

A64 3200 and Neo 2 Plat

I am o/cing..

but I found my BFG OC would not run(with HL2 crashes, stuttering etc) at stock cpu/mobo and stock card settings...maybe everyone knows already..but I suspect this board is undervolting the agp slot as well. By increasing the agp voltage expertoo reports a 2C increase in temp

My BFG OC ran 375/870 in my Abit IT7 Max2 rev2 with no changes to agp voltage

But in the neo2 plat I would get stuttering in HL2 and it would crash as well(also got real bad 3dmark05 stuttering)..again at stock speeds
I had ati/nv speed up disabled...

I am not a benchmark person..I want real world to be ok..I do not care if 3dmark05 were 10000 if my games crash

once I increased agp voltage to 1.6 the issues seem to be resolved...but it looks like the BFG OC does best at 360/870 so far..so I had to decrease the gpu core...maybe if I increase agp voltage it will run again at 370...but who cares

Also this is not a PSU issue as I am running a OCZ powerstream 520w....which I used with the Abit board and I am using once of the dedicated HDD/VGA connectors

BTW what is max safe agp voltage

I noticed the same thing with my PNY 6800GT! With my old P4 2.8C @ 3.5 and Asus P4C800-E, I could run my card at Ultra speeds with no problems (400/1100). Never had a problem. With the new setup I had to decrease my core to 375/1100. Anything above 375 the computer will lock up during 3dMark01SE. With it running 375/1100, 1.6V for the AGP there is no problems. I am running a 3200 @ 2600 mHz, 10x multiplier, 3x HTT, and 520DDR with my G.Skill @ 2.5-3-3-7. I to am running the PowerStream 520.

Very strange since the Neo2 Plat supports such stable high fsb...

wonder why the agp slot is having issues....oh well OI hope it helps someone else afford some frustrations..I was pretty upset this am..when I figured I could not get my card to run properly at stock speeds...wonder whether this is an issue with ATI cards??

Is that a 6800 Ultra OC? Or a6800GT? If I may ask a probably dumb question. Have you got the 2 aux power plugs attached? On different power supply wires (can't have both on the same cable)? (can't cheat with using a Y splitter either).

No mine is BFG OC..non GT/Ultra..it has 1 4pin connector...

I took it out and I went back to my Radeon 9700 pro..still got stuttering with increased agp voltage....

I am going to try and return it...but itwas purchased at BB and who knows

Sure:

I set the cell to stock cpu settings(10x200, 5xhtt, cpu default voltage,ati/nv speed up disabled), ram was 133 2.5-3-3-7 2t 2.7v(this pc2700 at 166)
agp was at first 1.5v then 1.6v...agp setting in peripheral were at stock...

in winxp I set the card to default speeds 350/700...it was smoother at 1.6v agp but still seem to stutter a bit

Remember this card was silk smooth on my Abit..in fact it unlock 16p, 6vp and ran 375/870 with no voltage change on the Abit IT7 Max 2 rev2...

My pSU was the same on both mobos..520 w OCZ pwoerstream with a dedicated vga/hdd molex(they are specially shield by ocz

Oh yea ...I even tried 67.03, 71.24 drivers...to much stuttering..I would accept some stuttering but not alot to disrupt game play..even I want a slower card I could use my 9700 pro...which I have done

If BB will not return it I will sell the it
