Yes, you do need to uninstall the RC2 first (or any earlier version). However, when you do so, your email folders, bookmarks, and other preferences will be restored when you install the new version.

Bizarre problem on RC2 on my home Win2K box: The email program no longer works. It does not execute, period. I reboot the machine, uninstall and then reinstall RC2, nothing. Sometimes the TaskManager will show mozilla.exe as a running process, but not as a running application. Weird. It's a good thing I don't have anything important on the home email account.. (and the folders are still there, in any case, so I can always just fire up the ol' Linux box and read them off of that)

Downloading now.

I think it does mention that the old version needs to be uninstalled. I uninstall the old one, remove the directory that it was in and install the new one. I still get all my bookmarks cookies and stuff that I used to have. I usually go ahead and reinstall the flashplugin, but I'm not sure if I really need to or not.

Have they updated the way you deal w/ favorites, I find it such a task to deal w/ the imported ones from IE. I'm a version or two behind as well

This one seems faster for some reason. Maybe because I blocked some of the banners?

I hope they fixed remembering the mail and news user name and password.

Using rc3 right now...I'm loving this browser! IE6 feels so clunky and low-tech now whenever I bring it up. Tabbed browsing, no pop-ups, password-protected auto-forms, DOM inspector, Javascript debugger, and on and on. What a great browser...and it's free and open source.

hmmm. After installation ZoneAlarm is alerting me to mozilla.exe, which is asking for server rights.

[edit:] Ok, so far so good. The thing I do not like about the sidebar is that you cannot select a tab to collapse after expanding it. To collapse a tab, you have to select another tab to expand. That's a pain.

MaxDepth,

Don't quote me on it, but it's my understanding Mozilla wants "server rights" for an internal inetd server that's a component of Chatzilla, the IRC client.

I recall that if you deny those server rights, nothing breaks.

double hmmm.
I installed the mozilla client without Chatzilla or anything else. It shouldn't ask for any permissions until I give it a URL to fetch.

I closed it and reopened the app after initial installation. It keeps asking for Server rights and access to the Internet even though the home page is blank (local). I need to install a router and check the logs to see what Mozilla is really asking for.

Does N-E-1 know where the this list is kept at? I would like to combine "block banner list" if possible (2PCs) .

I installed RC3 on top of RC2 (without even reading the instalation instructions... lazy me) and it works just fine so far.
However the instructions do say to install in empty directory. Maybe it's time for me to start RTFM :)
