FYI - Monitor under warranty!

I purchased my 19 VS-195 KDS monitor back in late Nov 98. It has performed flawlessly up until a couple of months ago it started flickering. I new this wasn't good but did nothing about it until I was forced to. That is when it no longer worked. I thought for sure this was out of warranty, but I called KDS anyway. The rep asked me "When did you purchased the monitor". After some silence on the phone she asked again. I was doing the math in my head and replied Nov 99 and that was it. I was sent a new monitor. Go KDS!

Now here is the kicker. I have 30 days to get this monitor back to them. I live in PA and the shipping address is CA. I called UPS with the weight and dimensions (50lbs, 22x22x22). It's going to cost over $50 to ship this monitor back to them.

To me that?s a lot of money just to ship. You say "Well, you got a Monitor out of it.". Oh I know, but it could die any day and if that happened it's not under warranty and I'd have to get a new monitor. The cheapest monitor that I was going to by was a KDS 195is for $135 shipped. If I applied the $50 to the shipping I would only be out and extra $85 for a new 19 monitor. Now if it breaks I?m out $New Monitor + $50.

I just wanted to share this with all of you. Also I didn't ship it back yet. Anyone got an idea where I might ship this cheaper????
