OK, so the Mrs. bought me a Logitech MX Duo Mouse/Keyboard set for Xmas and per the instructions, I put it in the cradle to charge last night around 12:00 midnight.

Well, I woke up at 5:30am to the smell of burning plastic only to find the batteries inside the MX700 mouse had melted inside the mouse casing and started to melt the mouse to the charging cradle!! I double checked the instructions to make sure I wasn't doing anything goofy, but it looks like they may have sent out a bad batch of NiMH's or the power adapter is wonky or something because after some googling, I come to find out that a few other MX700 owners have seen this as well and Logitech has since discontinued the product set...

Needless to say, RMA is in progress. Just FYI for those of you with this model possibly purchased from Newegg or recently elsewhere...

I don't have the duo, but there is some warping near one of the contacts on my mx700. I thought it may be from switch and contact cleaner though.

Wow, that is odd! Bad batteries or contacts inside I wonder?

I've had one for over a year with the original batteries even and it is still working fine. Hope things get sorted for you.
