I just spent about 4 hours at a person's house, on the phone with timewarner/roadrunner, AOL , and linksys.
if you're trying to setup a router with aol service it won't work.
NOTE!!! this is for those people that use the AOL service to "sign on" to their connection before they can get on the net.
not for people who use AOL on top of cable or dsl.
AOL has a linksys router you can buy with AOL firmware in it. You can't get the firmware from linksys (although AOL told me that):|
you have to purchase this directly from AOL.
Also there are reports of the firmware not working anyways
I haven't tried to buy one yet I'll do that tomorrow. I thought I'd pass this along to maybe save someone else some headaches.
