I just upgraded to Win7Pro64 today (from XP) and I kept on having the problem of my local network drive NOT automatically reconnecting upon Windows login.
The solution in this article fixed it for me.
My network drive is a server running FreeNAS.
The solution lies in adjusting your Group Policies and also making sure you have your credentials correct in the Credential Manager.
For example, in CM, I have to have the following format:
Network Address: 123.456.78.90
Username: NETWORKDRIVE\Username
Password: PASS
(I did this both for Windows and Generic Credentials.)
