guess im old as this never even came across my radar. I caught a random bit of a BarnaculesNerdgasm live stream and went down the rabbit hole.

so bitclout is some sort of social media thing with a cryptocoin thing mixed in where celebrities claim an account/token and their fans pay actual btc to bump messages higher up the feed. the thing is it is all scam where it isnt decentralized, its backend is leeching off imgur, and it isnt linked to btc network and you cant get your money out.
general breakdown of how scammy it is
barnacules goes over how bad it is and how the founder and initial stakers are all off of the genesis block.

the founder basically has all the btc in his wallet so he gets away with 350 million $. some whitehat did a ddos on the site yesterday to demonstrate it isnt decentralized. a bunch of celebs have already been suckered in to investing real money into it. they made a bunch of fake celeb accounts to fool their fans into paying to "tweet". founder is funneling money to hackers in russia.

if it is any consolation, this is the founder's umpteenth attempt at a crypto scam. the prior ones failed miserably.
