I'm seeing a lot of this lately:
If you click on the first icon, it will pop up a window that asks if you want to subscribe to the thread. Once you subscribe to the thread, it will show up in your My Forums page. If you have it configured as such, the forums will even email you when someone posts in your subscribed threads (this can be set to email or PM's).
If you click on the Star, it adds it to your Forum Favorites, which also show up in your My Forums page. This way, you will not get email/PM notifications.
Now granted, this won't increase your postcount (which is probably why a lot of people do it), but it seems to me that it's an easier way to track threads you're interested in.
I fully expect this thread to contain a few comedy "marked for later" posts as well, given the nature of ATOT.
Edit with info from Oldsmoboat about how to add it to your forum favorites. I didn't even know that was there

Now if you scroll all the way to the bottom of a thread (or the top) in the lower right corner (upper right if you're at the top of a thread), are several icons.Originally posted by: Czar
