FIRST POST!!
I currently have a phenom x6 1100t and a msi 890fxa-GD70 motherboard. overclocked to 3.8GHZ with an antec kuhler. no sweat.
both have been awesome! however my only complaint with the board is that it cannot SLI. being as i want an additional gtx 670
so im building a spare rig for my gaming lair with mostly an old gtx 560ti that is collecting dust in my closet but is still an awesome card. and the money i just got from selling my xbox i plan on replacing with a pc.
ive decided that the fx 6300 cant be beaten for the price. and ive found a couple of mobos that i like.
1: MSI 970A-G46 which is 79.99 on newegg.
2:MSI 990FXA-GD65V2 which is 129.99 on newegg.
i know the 990 fxa is more badass but is nearly double the money worth it since im sure ill do a baby overclock down the road. (maybe 4.2 or 4.4 ghz)
i spent like $180 in my current board and couldn't be happier with it despite no sli.
keep in mind im trying to not spend extra money where not needed bc (i dont overclock fsb or ram or anything crazy) this is really a spare pc that is an xbox replacement. (even though the 6300 is a little better than my 1100t) this new pc will eventually be my primary computer as i get another gtx670 later down the road.
Also, what are some really good, cheap and reliable boards non sli. capable of a light 6300 oc? Incase i decide not to go that route.
