Been a good card while it lasted... only had it for about 9 months. I was out of town yesterday, turned the computer off in case it stormed cause it was supposed to rain... came home and turned the computer on and the screen was full of pretty colored vertical lines. Rebooting, resetting, etc. didn't help at all... tried it in my spare computer and got the same pretty colors.

So... I just ordered a Powercolor 9800 Pro from Newegg that comes with Hitman. Little bit of an upgrade... but too bad I can't afford an x800 or 6800 right now... even if they were in stock somewhere.

I should probably reinstall games that use video card specific features right? Cleaning up the drivers won't be a problem as I already have Driver Cleaner installed.

I don't see how just your vid card could be fried but not your PC or monitor. Maybe you can get it fixed under warranty.

You knowingly sold defective hardware!?! Why?

Jeff: what kind of card was it? It would seem that after only 9 months you should be able to get it replaced under warrantee.

A lot of people sell defective hardware... they state in the auction it's defective... some buyers take a chance and buy it, RMA it and see if they can get it fixed or replaced.

It's an Aopen card... I had it overclocked the whole 9 months, but I don't think that had anything to do with it failing as it has worked flawlessly the entire time, including the morning before it failed... wasn't getting too hot, didn't do any voltage mods or anything like that. I might RMA it and sell the replacement on eBay... or I might just sell the card on eBay and get a few bucks for it and let someone else try to RMA it.

I never addressed this... the card is not fried... it died. Either due to the ~25% overclock for 9 months straight, or manufacturer defect.
