Can anyone tell me how the FX5700 Ultra with GDDR3 stacks up against other cards in the price range, IE 9800SE, 9600XT.
 
see sig, specifically, the buyers guide, for benchmarks from doom 3, cs2, and other games, im too lazy to give you a direct link to the benchmarks 😉
 
the 5700 Ultra is THE best mid-range card, unfortunately, the price tag it carries is not. Go for the 9800 Pro, unless you can find the 5700u for $130 or less (which i've seen a few times on Chumbo.com) Hope I helped 🙂
