I was checking out pricewatch and saw that a store had a 5600ultra 256mb card for $128. i currently have a 5200ultra with 128mb. The 5600ultra any good? and do they make a 256mb model? if you go yo pricewatch and go to video cards, then click on fx5600 ultra, there is listed only 2. one is the 256mb and another is 128mb which is 219.

recommendations? My budget for a new card is only about $150 and i like the nvidia cards over ATI.

I would only buy a 5600 Ultra if it were $20. You're better off getting some sort of 9700 or 9800 card for that price range, or a 5700 Ultra.

the cheapest thing you should consider is a

5900XT

see if you can get a 9800/9700 256bit version refurb or something for 150

The problem is that the lower priced 9800 Pro's are usually the slower 128bit version which are to be avoided like the plague!

Radeon 9800 Pro = $166

Geforce FX 5900 XT = $175

Don't bother with a FX5700 Ultra because the price difference between them and the FX 5900 XT is very small! :)

If you wanna buy a new card:
~130$ FX 5700 Ultra
~170$ FX 5900 XT
~195$ Radeon 9800 Pro
And if you don't mind getting a used card:
90-120$ 9500Pro-9700 NP
120-150$ 9700Pro-9800Pro

Like I said, WAIT! :) Here's a general idea of what the 6600 is for you. Text
