FX5500 vs X1050

My friend just bought a Radeon X1050 to replace his GeForce FX5500, as we thought it was a good deal for $60. I'm so out of the video card loop it's not funny, so is this indeed a good upgrade for him?

Not at all. If he isn't gaming then its fine.

But otherwise don't expect any real difference

Are you sure? Isn't the 5500 a pretty old video card? I have an X700 and it was way better than my old GeForce.
