Fx55 vs Athlon 64 X2 4800+

Question, does the x2 stack up better overall then an Fx55? I'm not to educated on all of this but does the loss of 400 mgz on the bus speed show with the x2 when compared to the fx55?

loss of 400MHz on the bus speed?? What are you talking about?
The x2 4800+ is like two FX-53 in one package.
Therefore the 4800+ will be slightly slower in games (because all current games are single-thread) due to the lower clockspeed, but it would mutitask much better because you have two CPUs.

I would go for an X2 now.

The FX55 although impressive does not offer much more than what the lower level athlon 64 CPU's do.

The X2 does for similar money.

My choice a 4400+

I would also lean towards the X2. Save a few dollars, and get the dual core option, since it will be better off for multi-tasking. The FX's are nice, but in this case, I say go the X2 route.

yep, the stock fx-55 will beat the stock x2 in gaming, but when you oc it past fx55 speeds, it will kick its a$$ in everything.
