fx55 or x2 4800

Im going to be upgrading my socket 939 machine and saw both thesse processers for roughly the same price. I use my machine mostly for gaming so would the single core fx be better or the dual core 4800?

Go with the X2 4800+. And, welcome to the yellow brick road.

I'd rather have an FX-57, than either, although I just built an X2 4400-based system. But, between the FX-55 and a 4800, I'd definitely go with the 4800.

it's a no-brainer...4800. you're not bottlencked by your CPU so compare the other options...the 4800 is dual core so it wins
