Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on what game(s), and what resolutions.

I run xfire 7870ghz (1130/1340) with my FX6300 @ 4.4ghz. However, the most graphics intensive game I play is BF4 @ 1080p/Ulta/2x MSAA and it runs just fine. In high player count servers I get some slow downs if there is a lot going on, not much though. As Cerb stated, it really depends on the game and what resolution you play at.

You can choose a ridiculously high resolution that is so taxing on the video cards that they crawl to a halt, so your CPU is not the bottleneck because it just waits for the video cards to render their 1 frame every 15 minutes. On the other hand, you could choose a ridiculously low resolution that is so easy for the video cards to render, that they are always sitting around waiting on the CPU and you'll be CPU limited.

Are you running 4K? Maybe triple-screen 1080p gaming? Or a single display at 1280x1024?

Yes, it is a bottleneck, especially if you do not have it overclocked. Overclocking may help a little bit (10-20%), but upgrading to an Intel i5 would help a lot (50-100%) especially if you play multiplayer on big maps (64 player).

Here is a quick comparison of an FX 6300 and i5 3570k:

The fps gap in the games tested is pretty huge.

It is overclocked, and by quite a bit. At 1080P, you could probably push BF4 enough to be GPU-limited, but I'd be surprised if the others weren't all CPU-limited.

OTOH, at 1080P, there won't be anything out there that rig won't play well, with that kind of OC on the CPU.

1080p and I will overclock the CPU to 4.8Ghz

and if overclocked @4.8 Ghz and Resoultion 1080p ?

Like I said, you can expect to gain a 10-20% fps boost if you overclock it. If you play on large maps/populated servers, it puts even more stress on the CPU and the CPU will be an even bigger bottleneck in those situations.

I was having constant 60fps(60fps cap) with FX8350 @ 4.2GHz and a single HD7950 @ 1GHz at Ultra settings (no MSAA) in BF4 64 player maps. A 4.8GHz FX6300 will be just fine. But if you havent buy the CPU and GPUs yet, i would recommend the FX8320 and a single 280X or better the R9 290.
You can also use Mantle and pair the FX6300 with a single R9 290 in BF4.

Are you sure your CPU can do 4.8ghz? Or is that what you are hoping for? Thats a huge overclock for the 6300.

Will? As in you haven't, already? That's being quite optimistic, even going with water. I would recommend getting an Intel, and going for a more minor OC, if this is a future hope.

Does that also mean you don't have either GPU, yet? Because if not, don't buy 2 R9 270 cards, when you can buy single GPUs, instead...

I am using a FX 6300 on a Sabertooth R 2.0.

With a Corsair H60 cooler ,with 2 Gentle Typhoon ,in push pull to out ,i could reach a 4,7Ghz on one module of the 3.
4,9Ghz was the maximum to allow me boot.Voltages were kept somewhere in the 1,44V area.
With a better cooler more voltage can be pumped.

With relative normal temperatures ~ 65 -70 Celsius ,i could also get 4,5Ghz on 2 modules and a 4,4Ghz on all 3.

This are frequencies that run steady in any online game BF 3 ,BF BC2 ,CS GO ( a stressfull one for the CPU) ,Far Cry 3 ,AC 3 and so on.

Using only one module at 4,7Ghz was ok for CS GO for example.

It is a good performer.

At default clocks it would be slower ,in spite of hitting the 4,1Ghz turbo ,than having all cores set at 3,9Ghz ,so all reviews found around should be taken into consideration with an amount of doubt ,of what this CPU does exactly for the money payed.

Having in mind the Mantle API i am SUPER sure that in any game that will use Mantle ,this CPU would be good enough even at 3 Ghz ,on all cores.

I can play on a single card ,a old ATI unlocked Sapphire 6950 ,any game and i am only limited at 1080p (my display) by the video card ,that is kinda old.

I would say pairing those cards with a FX 6300 ,even mildly overclocked, should be ok for gaming.
Best CPU for the money around.

By the way, Prime 95 (the latest one) is not able to load it at default settings (CNQ/Core Boost) ,it always bounces at around 3000Mhz-3500Mhz.Never reaches top clocks and never loads all cores fully.

It is very scary to read things like this. If that tool is not loading your cpu to 100% then there is clearly something wrong.
