For a 1k price tag, the preformance doesn't seem to "wow" me, 5-9% is good. However I am intrested to see what amd releases with the new AM2 socket mentioned in this article. ^^

Great CPU. A little anticlimatic for me. Was hoping for greater O/C'ing potential from these...

I agree. Although it looks like basically the fastest dual-core CPU out there, the OCing potential was disappointing. I mean, you can't even get to 3 GHz without watercooling or aggressive air cooling. :(

You know there is a market for everything, including FX60s! For people who simply want the best, they can afford to buy this without a second thought.

Just like you can't say why people buy Lambhourghinis and not just a souped up EVO or STI.

I dont know what you guys were xpecting...rigyt in line with my thoughts....no process change and you though 3ghz was just going to appear??? It is getting better since the introduction og sckt939 90nm...we will just have to wait until a die shrink and or socket change....

I am honestly looking at building an Intel box but the prices are too high...I like the large OCing but if the D (not XE) model even at 4.3ghz cannot beat the X2's I dont see a point....I would like the XE with virtual 4 cores but got sticker shock....

At 4.26 the new 955XE can't beat an X2@2.9 all the time. And I know they are spendy. I will stay with the X23800 or 4400 @ best OC I can get.
