So for $200 you can do better than a $1000 cpu even OC'ed ! I will take the 3000+ 939 90nm(If I was in the market).

I agree it is much cheaper but i think you would get more longevity out of an OC'd 3500 because it would run cooler and you do not have to change the voltages.

Good point on the voltage ! But for me, I upgrade so often, it wouldn't matter....

No kidding. And dont bother talking to certain ones - it goes in one ear and out the other. One day, everyone will use Intel.

for those of you wondering how the 3500+ ramps up at 2.6ghz, the 3000+ hits 2.6ghz just as easily. between the 3500+ and 3000+, they both overclock to about the same speeds, so the obvious choice is to get the 3000+.

Felix, I have a question for you.

Why do you like Intel so much and hate amd?

please dont put down stupid comments or whatever. as a note, people here dont like amd because we just like the brand. we like amd because the honestly provide better performance and price and wtih the 2 combined, it will beat intel no matter what. also, please try to back up your claims, as i, including everyone else have already backed up our claims. the only way to turn a lie into truth is by proving it somehow.

Wow, if AMD can get wood to crush the P4, just wait until they start using silicon...
Thats what you get for being number two.

Mainstream is a $250 3400 reviewed there which by all rights should have been labled 3600.

I think it's an even cheaper 3200+ :)
that's what I bought.... the performance difference between 3200+ and 3400+ was so small.

Hey guys, don't forget... The P4 systems beat the pants off of the A64s in the power consumption graph they are all at the top! (more power consumed) LOL

Yes! best chip you can buy right now IMO.

It has wonderful multiplier options for all memory types and overclcoking FSB options. It's only $200. And it's guranteed AX stepping since all 3200's are AX. Finally it has compatability with the best and cheapest mobos...

Expect 2500Mhz on stock HSF and 2600Mhz on aftermarket HSF.

Heck even stock it blows away almost all pentium chips.

Remeber every 200Mhz overclock you can do = 300mhz overclcock in P4 land.

ie 2600Mhz = 3900Mhz p4
