fx 5200 vs x700

Well, the FX 5200 is crap, with a value of about $15, and the X700 is a moderately decent card that was always overpriced, but should be worth about $80 or so, does that help? Incidentally, I can give yopu a lovely WikiPedia article address about how bad all of the FXes really are, but I've dealt with a half dozen personally, and all but one of those (FX 5900 Plain) were pure garbage.
 
you see my friend can get a 128mb x700 or a 128mb fx 5200 the 5200 he has but how much better is the x700 b/c he is buying it of another friend of mine for 25.

BTW: there both PCI-E cards
 
The X700 isn't great with performance a bit below that of a 9800 Pro, but the FX5200 is a piece of crap with about the same performance as a GeForce 3 ... hopefully this will make your friends decision easier.
 
I would say it's a good deal faster and it's definitely worth the upgrade for only $25. I'd say at least 2-3 times as fast as the 5200.
