I recently got a bit of money and went with an FX-4100 and this budget motherboard: http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A78LM_LX/
with 8gb XMS3.
I realize bulldozer isn't a great buy and the four core is.. well I don't want to think about it, not to mention the 3+1 phase power of the motherboard, but I got both for £100 brand new which is the price for a new 955 by itself so I couldn't really say no.
My main question is, what should I expect coming from a Core 2 duo E8200? I have a H60 (in push/pull) and will overclock it and see what I get but I'm a little worried I'll barely get an upgrade from my present E8200, this is mostly for games (paired with a 6870) and even though I've heard it's not a 'true' quad core I feel it should perform better than my mature dual core.
Any replies are appreciated, thankyou.
