My carpets were wet in the morning and I was like 'WTF!?"

Turns out the airconditioner condensor or the fact that it condenses or the fact that it doesn't have a dehumidicication system mean that it leaks...into to a conveiently-placed 20 gallon trashcan.

I was not aware of this.

As it turns out, the 20 gallon tank's capacity was past-due, and I have have officially pwned by water

Pwned

You should rig up a pipe that lets it flow outside, or some sort of sump pump in the can to shoot it out. Basically, you need drainage.

It is normal for an airconditioner to leak. They all do b/c they are cold and it is humid inside the house. Normally the airconditioner has a drain that either runs into your sump hole if you have one, or into the sewer.

Why isn't your furnace set up properly to pipe the condensation to a drain? That's the real question.

It's not a leak, all air conditioners remove moisture from the air and send it to a drain. When they are installed, the drain has to be routed somewhere.
