I used to only floss rarely and I had that problem when I first started. Actually I still occasionally have that problem...I think your teeth are just tighter on certain days than they are on others. Don't get discouraged though! My dentist likes me more now that I floss 🙂

I have tight gaps between my teeth and I tried regular floss, tape floss, and cloth floss. They all suck. I now buy the cheapest Oral-B floss and it works great. It's a very thin floss that never tears.

by any chance your dentist is a female?

having braces for the past six years, I was never able to floss. I've been flossing since I got them off two months ago, and ewwww the stuff that is between my teeth. I probably have so many cavities it's not funny.

I use the braided tarter control floss, but my teeth aren't as tightly spaced as some people's are.

The braided is nice and strong, and stretches quite thin.

BTW, take it from a hard learner: FLOSS EVERY DAY.

#1 - get some better floss. GLIDE floss is your friend. it won't shred.
#2 - if you do get some stuck - just chill. your teeth actually move a bit to accomodate the floss in there and after sleeping the night in the morning you'll be able to floss the stuck piece right out.

#1 - gonna use our Swiss floss from now on 😉
#2 - hah, that's what I thought too. It didn't come out in the morning after 15mins trying. Just went to the dentist and she took that thingie out. It was kinda big IMO.

I haven't heard enough people endorsing Glide floss. Best stuff ever when it comes to tooth care. I had horrible trouble with all flosses breaking, freying, and slicing my gums to shreads (since they required so much force). Switched dentists one day and the new dentist recommended Glide. No problems ever since.

Yeah, something like that.

I agree, it really pulls a lot of crap out with it. And the fact that it can be imbedded with tarter control or flouride is a plus, too.
