And last night when we got back, there was a 20-30 minute delay after we landed because they changed the gate on us. And then claiming your bags... another 20+ minutes. Yeah it beats driving, but sometimes the aggravation makes up for it.

Wow, sounds like a trip through Chicago's O'Hare. :D

You think that's bad, when I was in China two weeks ago, I rode Shanghai Airlines from Shanghai to Guangzhou. First the flight changed gates and then was delayed because "air traffic control" and for compensation for waiting, they passed out snacks and drinks, and then suddenly stopped. They had everyone board the shuttle and drove to the plane, but didn't let us off and instead turned back circling the airport for a while and returned to the gate. Rather than explaining what happened the airline instead told us that they had no time to deal with us. Everyone on that flight got so pissed off they spent like an hour or two arguing.

Newark is a much nicer airport than Kennedy or LaGuardia IMO.

I spent seven hours in BWI last week. :(

I apologize, BWI is a terrible place.

It's a lot easier to get around in than Dulles. Still, I'd rather not be stranded in ANY airport, and BWI doesn't have much to do inside.

Actually, BWI is once of the nicer airports out there, in terms of neighborhood. Problem being that it's the TSA's testing grounds for new techniques, so the wait time is longer, and only a handful of airlines service it regularly because landing fees are so high compared to dulles. That, and if for some reason you get a daytime layover at Dulles, there's the f'in Air and Space museum on-site, go waste time there.

And generally less crowded than JFK!

Stop whining

Righhhhhhhhhhtttttttttttttt. It is silly to expect an airline not to strand you every freakin' chance they get.

You must work for an airline, because otherwise how could you make such a moronic comment? They are a business, it doesn't matter if they do it on purpose. Hey bud, I work in an industry in which we are just as susceptible to weather or maintenance issues as are airlines, but it doesn't mean a customer doesn't have a right to gripe.

I PAID for my ticket and was offered a service. If they can't provide that it isn't whining it is demanding that they fix it.

How old are you, 12?

All im sayin is don't blame the gate agents, ticket agents for weather and mechanical related problems. They have no control over it. My dad is a gate agent, you wouldn't believe the bullsh1t he has to put up with.

I would get mad too if my flight was delayed for a long time but I wouldn't be b1tching out people that did nothing wrong.

And I didn't. Where in my post did I say anything about the gate or ticket agent?

They have no control over it.

Never said they did.

My dad is a gate agent, you wouldn't believe the bullsh1t he has to put up with.

Actually I would, because I deal with disgruntled customers/guests every single day, and they don't spend the kind of money that airline passengers do. Like I said earlier, most of our complaints are not MY fault either, but I never said I took it out on someone. My problem was with CONTINENTAL not the GATE AGENT.

I would get mad too if my flight was delayed for a long time but I wouldn't be b1tching out people that did nothing wrong.

Who the fvck did I bitch out, you goddamn moron? Never, not a single time in ANY of my posts did I say I bitched about person X. Thank you very much learn to read.

To be honest, I actually DID have a problem with the gate agent, because instead of saying the flight was delayed for a plane change due to maintainence/safety issues, she said "well you don't want to fly on a plane that could crash do you?" Thanks bitch, today was father's day and my father died in a Plane Crash, so those kind of comments she could leave to herself. I didn't say anything, however, I just walked away.

Stop jumping to conclusions and you won't look like such an ass. The *only* person I've "bitched" at was Customer Service on the We Care number -- that's their "bitch" line, and I've talked with them at length about what happened at Cancun. Obviously they are fairly inept, so I'm just going to write them a professional letter explaining what happened and that I'm very dissatisfied. Other than that I don't give a damn!

Not only did the other things happen that I mentioned in my previous posts, but also:

Continental had three people working the coach check-in in BHM and were not serving Elite Access when they had plenty of staff and short lines. Unexcusable -- that's what it is there for, and no it wasn't to help people catch a flight, they were just dumbasses. Secondly, when my baggage was attacked by the cracksmoking handlers at IAH - -they orginally wouldn't offer me compensation until I talked to a Supervisor, and she told the Lady that *was* entitled to compensation and that she was wrong. You know what I did? I noted her name and complimented her to WE CARE as well as spoke with her Manager and gave her a compliment.

I'm not much of a complainer when it comes to shopping, restaurants, flying, etc, so YOU don't bitch at ME. Got it?

Hartsfield has been getting pretty bad lately. Man, OKC's airport was great -- it was fast, clean, and they just got through with a major renovation. MSY, and MCO are great Airports as well and so is Tampa, Ontario's is nice as well. Most problems I've run int have been at IAH and at Hartsfield. Being that they are both Hubs I can understand that to a point, but still. A 30 minute delay happens. Being stranded in Houston and having Continental be stupid for a whole trip just wasn't fun. Other than the plane change due to maint at IAH the two Continental Flights today had great service and were good.

Honestly, I like Delta and Southwest the best. American was great but I've only flown them a few times. Northwest is nice as well, but not much experience with them either.

The last flight I was on we had a 1:30 delay, ON THE TARMAC WITH NO A/C @ DFW. It was 95F outside, I'm sure very far away from the tarmac, they asked us to "keep the blinds shut to reduce heat". :frown:

Yep....had the same thing happen on a Delta flight when they missed their runway slot on takeoff. They should be shot for that kind of stuff...
