I omitted three problems from the whole test...why? Because I was in the first row and if I even touched the pencil to the paper after they said stop (i was literally in the act of moving my arm towards the bubble) I would have gotten my sat on by this fat lady that was standing in front of me the whole goddamn time.

Oh well. :(

It doesn't really matter anyway, I was just hoping for some national merit scholarship recognition (even honorable mention). I still have a shot because I think I did pretty well on writing. My friend got a 63 math, 64 verbal, 73 writing and got honorable mention. I think I probably got higher on math, and about the same on the others (I hope!).

<sigh>

Good thing it's just the PSATs because I did not do nearly as well as I am capable of.

Don't stress about it. It really isn't that big of a deal in the long run (the SAT, also).

I know, but still. :(

If I wasn't capable of well above what I probably got (by at least 100 points), I wouldn't be so pissed. :(

Oh well, PSATs aren't a huge deal. I'll just make sure that I do better on the SATs - even those aren't as big as people make them out to be.

<sigh>

Here's to hoping that I get an honorable mention thing for the National Merit dealie - that would like quite nice on my transcript...but really, whatever, no biggee I guess. Just means that I did well and do well in school and that my teachers/principal like me...if I do well on my PSATs, continue to do well in school, and get two good college apps (which I have lined up really nicely!), I'll be even better off.

Bah...not worth my worries. PSATs...PSATs...slightly calmer now...

BTW, for all you other high school juniors and sophomores, what did you think of it today?

I fvcking sucked on the verbal, and think I did well on the math. But that's what I thought I did last year and I got a 65, 65, 70, so we'll see :p Hopefully I did a little better, but that might be reaching. I hear SATs are easier, but then again I hear the opposite. I just hope I get a 1400 on the SAT, that's what i'm shooting for.

What really screwed me up was that I couldn't get smashing pumpkins- Heavy Metal Machine, out of my head during the reading comprehension part (which i'm worst on) then this kid wouldn't stop sniffing, distracted me the whole time!!!

I think I did "poorly" on the verbal as well and better on the math - the ones I could answer (damn those two that I couldn't bubble in cuz I was in the first row :(). Writing was not too bad - I did a practice writing section last night and got a 74.

I hear that the SATs are easier too - I don't think I've heard the opposite from anyone actually. I am shooting for a 1450 on the SATs. 700 verbal and 750+ math. I really think I can do that - I just need to do more practice tests and whatnot to improve my technique and not stall on a more difficult problem.

Hah, I was bothered by the supervisors walking by and especially that one that was almost always right in front of me. She even stood at the corner of my desk for a minute...her fat ass about an inch away from the front, right corner of my desk. <shudder>

what really screwed me up when I took the psats was the incubus concert I went to the night before and didn't get home until after 12....haha taking any standardized test after 6 hours of sleep is never a good idea...but oh well. I'm hoping to get in the 205-210 range, I got a 190 I think last year.

I still like how i got the same score when i took it in 7th grade as i did when i took it in 10th grade, 1140... PSAT's dont mean too much, only for National Merit... and as for SAT's, only matter for gettin into college..

from my experience, the PSAT was much easier, especially on the verbal section. But don't worry, the SAT is almost exactly the same test. (My score was higher on the SAT)

The b!tch during my test didn't explain the rules properly...I HAD NO IDEA THAT LEAVING AN ANSWER BLANK WOULD NOT COUNT OFF POINTS WHEREAS AN INCORRECT ANSWER WOULD. Sh!t!!!!

Aww man I hated the psats this morning...

It was awful hehe. I think I did okay on the verbal except for that last Reading essay comparsion thing (the one about naturalism and all that drama garbage)... that last reading essay asked me to bend up and take it! Geez, for some reason i just didnt get any of it! Heheh, oh well. I don't even wanna think about math... 55 score here I come! woo hoo! Heh oh well.. doesnt really matter soph. year.... it was just a good experience to be put in I suppose. I've heard most people do around 100 points better on their SATS than they did on the psats. My big sis got like 130 better on the SATS than she did on the psats. Guess because the sats are longer so the questions arent worth as much and by senior year you've had much more math.

I took mine last week, and it was pretty easy for me. I did omit a few problems, though. One or two in analogies, and one or two in math.
Other than that, I think I finished each section before anybody else, and I wasn't even aiming for speed. The librarian (we took this in the library), with whom we're friends, even told me after PSATs that she's worried because I finished so fast.
However, my goal was definitely not speed, so I know that I did everything accurately and to the best of my abilities.

My school will know the results in December, I'm told.

Yeah Dave, I hear ya! :|

My fscking proctor forgot that the last section was 30 minutes instead of 25, so we got screwed out of 5 minutes and consequentially I left the last 6 blank!

Blah! I was really pissed when I got home, so I decided to take a nap...
*sigh*

i just took them this morning too. Are they all the same for everyone? I mean, like within the year?, Will a kid in Calafornia (im in Mckean HS in DE)have the same test as me?The math part was pretty easy, i think i didnt do either one or two, and the others i knew. The English/Writing part is so stupid....a question could be..."What is the author of this passage trying to say in line 28?" How the hell am i supposed to know? Im not a mind reader! But thats the way it is on a lot of tests, so i guess its not the psat's fault, its just that English is suck. Stupid English..... Btw, i had to get up at 700! I lost half of my weekend sleep time!

The PSAT was much easier for me than the SAT. I didn't think the verbal section was challenging at all. Missed NM semi-finalist by 1 question :(

Haha PSATs ... Why do you guys worry so much?

I never studied for PSAT, SAT, or SAT II. This test is supposed to measure what YOU know, not what YOU study the week before the test.

Oh, and I found the PSAT to be the hardest of those 3 tests, followed by SAT, and then the easiest, SAT II.

hahah... i remember the PSAT's,took em two years ago. Anyways i scored about a 1230 on my psat. On my real SAt i scored a 1470, so go figure. They dont really measure much in my opinion. A waste of time if you ask me, national merit should be based on SAT and SAT 2 scores.

yeah, ur rightt about the "what u know" part, but nobody really cares about what they know...all ppl care about is their scores and their grades

A friend of mine wrote a thing about HS/Grades Link

Go to "my other pages" then "what i think" then "the school system sucks"
its pretty good, and explains why our school system sucks :)
she also has some other cool stuff on the web page
