Fvck I'm getting old...

Went to podiatrist & had both heels injected with steroidsanasthetic/B12 today, prob going to have surgery on left foot to remove the biggest bone spur over spring break so I can watch the kids.

Guy's finsihing up the most painful procedure I've ever had done without being knocked out & says, "You know, I never shoot both feet @ the same visit, it's too painful, you're pretty tough."

Am wimpering now...

Hey, as long as you feel young on the inside, thats all that matters. Just live the best you can at the age you are at, getting sad won't help.

I feel about 12 on most days😀

Good luck with it... I hope it gets better quickly for you. My wife had the same problem, with only 1 foot - I felt pretty bad for her. She hated the shot/treatment almost as much as the daily pain of walking. After 7 or 8 years trouble free, she thinks the problem may be starting again.

What caused this issue with you feet??

link

"The heel spur is usually a result of an inflamed ligament (plantar fascia) on the bottom of the foot that attaches to the heel bone. Constant abnormal pulling of this ligament irritates the heel bone and the body lays down a bone spur as a protective mechanism. The patient usually complains of pain with the first step in the morning, some relief following activity, but returning after extended amounts of time standing or walking."

I have serious arches & they are one of the casues of heel spurs. Have been taking NSAID's & using custom moulded arch supports for ~1 month with no relief, if the steroids don't help, I'll have the surgery done.

remember to goto the DMV and get the handicap sticker. asks the doctor to fill it out for the full 6 months 🙂

The shots hurt like a mofo, still hurts now.:brokenheart:

I got tired of walking around like an 80 year old man & went to the foot doc...

I can walk just fine, and even run/sprint.. it's when I run for long distances that the pain becomes incredible. I also have that first step in the morning pain that you described in your other post. (I know it's a bone spur, because the Army xrayed it and came up with that diagnosis; it's the reason I'm not still in the military.)

I have the pain first thing in the morning, but it doesn't hurt once I'm up & moving around. After the drive home after being on my feet all day, I'm ready to crawl into the house though. If things slow down @ work, & I sit down for a few minutes, it hurts like hell too.

I'm willing to bet all this is brought about by that hairless cat of yours. Your feet are going out on you, soon the prostate, heck your ex-wife is avoiding you and the kids. Somethings gotta give man. Lose the cat 🙂

I think he put the curse on me for having him fixed & declawed. Payback's a mofo...

Had my rotator cuff injected with steroids last week, am really falling apart. Having a PSA drawn tomorrow...

Got my new wall oven installed last night though, it's a quantum improvement over the nearly 20 year old one it replaced. Was a little hesitant to take the saber saw to the cabinetry to make it fit, but it looks great, just have to make a door to cover an 8" gap on the bottom & it'll look awesome

😀
