FvCK! I hate website building!

I feel so dumb after making a website thats successful and has been up for over 3months. So, today i started on another website and having problems with the background overlapping and repeating itself when it needs more space. Problem is: i use resoultion 1280x and most of the world still uses 800x or 1024 which means my old good website looks wacky to some people (*who uses anything below 1280x) .. well most people! :| What resoultion do you guys build your site @?.. im guessing 1024x

800x600 you can always use java to find the users resolution and have different code depending.

oh wow! Below 1024.. i think my website is screwed more than i thought. Its all html, but it was built in 1280x res, so the pictures are small for me, but are huge for people on small monitors. Well, thanks for now i know to build sites using 800x res..

I have displays that are set to 1600x1200, but I just use a smaller window when I'm designing the webpage. I aim for making it look good in 800x600 and resizable to pretty much anything. I try to keep things from slipping off the side at 640x480, but I don't worry too much if that happens occasionally.

At work I get to design for fixed resolutions: Since the company has almost completely gone to LCDs, and the standard resolutions are either 1024 or 1280, I can design for 1024.

Of course, some fools kick the resolution down (and whine about the display being fuzzy) but they're outside of standards and I can ignore them. 😀
