FVCK, Dish is acquiring satellite signal again.

Digital cable and dish both suck. Regular cable with that no delay channel switching is what rules. Got so fvuking tired of that 1 second delay in between switching channels that I downgraded to regular cable.

Me too! Man that was annoying.

We live at the north end of an airport. Seems like every five minutes an aiplane flies over and signal drops.
Rain is pretty good at knocking it out as well.

One of my receivers has been searching for the satellite for 3 days now (after huge storm blew through), but my other receiver has been working perfectly. Both on same Directv dish.

My dish is great. It has went out once for 20 minutes in 5 years and that was in a storm that knocked out cable in the neighborhood for a day. Got 110+ signal on both birds. Adjust your sh!t people. Don't wait for them to send somebody. Get off your couch and fix it. It isn't rocket science. Well that is of course unless you illegally put it on the roof of your 3 story apt. building. 😉

I had a box like that. They just changed it out for me.

final chapter in my saga with Dish TV. they came today to take the dishes off my roof as management required it. guess what, they THREW all the parts off a 40 foot roof. needless to say, nothing is recoverable. i have a 1 yr contract so that means i have 2 months left on my contract and no equipment to make it work. 🙁

these guys need to learn a bit about CS.

Ditto. If it truly was their service, they wouldn't still be in business. Try and fix it yourself before just assuming their service is suck.

i didn't put it there, their Subcontractor did, contrary to DISH policy. every dish contractor i've talked to since has told me, it should never have been put up there without a letter from the apartment management AND it's a policy by dish not to put stuff up on roofs anyway as it's not the best place for it.

they put the dish's on my roof 10 months ago, the switch went out after 7 months, it took them 5.5 weeks to send someone out to replace it. then after 10 months apartment management decided it was no longer acceptable to put dishes on roofs (there is/was about 8 homes in this complex with dish's on the roofs).

so it was finally taken down today, the guy from Dish Network came today to do it, he didn't just take it down, he threw all the equipment off the roof, now dish tv owes me dishes and lnb's etc as the contract is a 1 yr contract where the equipment all becomes mine at the end of the year. i'll pay out the last 2 months of my contract so they had better give me all my equipment.
