So... I moved to a new house and the only broadband provider available was Cox. YES STUPID FVCKING COX. Anyways, I try to set up my router, but I am not getting any connection whatsoever. I talk to an online rep, and he says you either pay 300 dollars for the home networking service or you're on your own. My router worked at my old house using Comcast, why won't it work here? Basically the mother fvcker didn't know sh_t and basically hung up on me. WOW im about to cancel this mother fvcking internet service altogether. Anyone that can help me plz do.

also call cox and make sure that coxial line is set up for highspeed internet and make sure the drivers and installed correctly

u must get in contact with them so they can say they see ur modem..and ping it to check for connectivity..and thats IF ur line is setup for cable modem. u may have to pony up the money and have someone come do it for u since they can contact their service dept...$300 is stupid..they are raping you

Hey dumbass, it's not their job to support your home wireless network. Can you get online without the router? Are you using one of their cable modems? Did you give them the mac address of your cable modem? You aren't really giving us much information to go on here.

<--Been on Cox for 7+ years now. No complaints.

I'm not mad that they didn't know how to setup my router. I'm mad that they hung up on me when I asked for someone to come down here to look at my router. And yes my cable modem is registered, thats how I'm connected. The only connection I can get is in my living room which is inconvenient.

go to your router menu, reachable by the ip and check your settings. is WLAN disabled? is WAN off? is security enabled?

Perhaps if you asked for help like a normal person instead of blaming everyone else for your problem, people would be more accomodating. Posting in the correct forum wouldn't hurt either.

So have you unplugged the power from your modem and let it sit for a couple minutes before plugging the network cable into your router?
