I'm thinking about getting a Shuttle FV24. But, I have a question.. does anyone know if this has any problems in any operating systems? Do its onboard components work in Linux, Win 98/2000/XP?

Also, anyone put a PCI video card in its PCI slot? If so, which one did you use? Did you use a riser card?

i have a FV24 in a SV24 shuttle mini-system. works great--tested everything but the firewire and they all work under windows 2000. i also have a PCI video card--a geforce2 MX--and it works no problems. if you are going to use PCI video, make sure that you get the bios update on the mobo so you can completely disable onboard video.

i don't know about Linux support, but you may want to check here:

there are a lot of guys here with the SV24 who may be able to answer your questions about the FV24 mobo it has inside of it.

Wow, thanks. When you got your system, was the motherboard in the retail box, separated from the case? I'm thinking about just getting the mobo and making my own case. If so, did it come with any cables, etc?

It come completely assembled (less hardrive and cpu and ram) If you are gonna use another video card, you must use a riser (provided)
I have a sb live installed as I use it for home entertainment..(mp3 dvd, burning cds) The sb live is really close to the cpu and covers like
1/4 of the processor fan... I am running a gig celeron and the temps are a on a par with a athalon :( but it works awesomely for the application) If you put a full length card in there you will prolly cover the entire fan... there still is like 1/2 between fan and card.. so there is room for air flow..
If you plan on gaming I wouldnt go with this unit.... I think the power supply is like 200w could be rough on some supper dupper geforce 3 or some such thing.
