Future terrorist attacks in the US, EU, elsewhere could be self-finance, self-funded?

Look how cheap the attack was in Paris/EU, for about $10,000 USD or so. No need to get money/financial support from outside to trigger the alarm from government agencies, just get a few credit cards or personal loan(s) and you are good to go.

The report also confirmed that most of the cells were engaged in operations that could be funded for the price of a reasonably nice used car.

“Finally, jihadi terrorist attacks in Western Europe have generally been cheap, with three quarters of the plots studied estimated to cost less than $10,000.

How do you stop someone if he/she does not trigger any alarm or red flag?

This is scary indeed as in the future, government entities could be even more invasive/restrict in the name of "public safety/for your own good".

You educate the populace and give them a reason to live? You don't marginalize people based on skin or religion?

Thats how you fight it. Or you slaughter 2 billion people on the planet and nuke mecca. Better hope you got them all.

This is scary indeed.

It's setting the stage for what we were warned about: “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

In a reasonably free country that is not a complete police state and where everyone is not closely monitored, there's no way you're going to stop lone-wolf or isolated cell crazies from carrying out killings. People will clamor for safety, and will give up liberties for the promise of safety. By the time they realize giving up liberty doesn't get them safety, it's too late.

Scary? Only if you want to be scared all the time.

Pretty much.

I am not talking about be scared/afraid/paranoid of things/surrounding.

I am talking about scary future. Things could be worse and the government could pass new laws that are even worse/more invasive to the citizens than Patriot Act and such.

Well for one, you do not rile up hate and inspire hate crimes everyday against them so they start thinking the afterlife with 72 virgins is better than their actual life.

I saw something on ABC news about what Tashfeen Malik said on facebook.. "woe to coconut muslims" i.e. she hated coconut muslims who are brown on the outside like her but living with White western ideals inside and not fighting for jihad. How is that any different from the Charleston shooter trying to start a race war?

We didn't take the bait from him but plenty of people are taking the bait with islamophobia. And if you push someone hard enough, they can go 2 ways.. be a refugee if they're not interested in violence or lash out by becoming a terrorist.

This is not rocket science people.. it's PTSD.

I used to talk about this a lot, that in the future a very smart teenager will be able to build something that can destroy the world. It could be anything, from a genetically modified organism to a nanobot molecular disassembler and that as a result where our money should be going is into mental health.

Humanity isn't safe because the world doesn't want to face it's real threat, the fact that we all hate ourselves. We were all traumatized as children and if for some reason, either because the abuse was tremendously intense, or because of some catastrophic life circumstance, we can accidentally open those feelings. Backing into those feelings without knowing even theoretically they are there is what we call insanity and various kinds of psychotic episodes.

Nobody knows who when or where, somebody may snap and go on a killing spree. But the germ for this disease is everywhere. He who loves himself, deep with in his feelings loves life itself, and he who hates himself wants life to end. The truth is so terrible that we deny and pretend, making our fait inevitable. We will all be in terrible danger until the human race decides it's time to heal.

How about the couple in San Bernadino? Didn't they they all have the reason to live happily instead of slaughtering their co-workers like birds and ended it with a shootout with the police?
