Hello all,
Can I get your thoughts and opinions on a machine I am looking to buy?
I built my computer last time, but this time I decided to just go with a prebuilt system.
So ibuypower.com is where I am looking to purchase the computer. They seem to have a nice blend of system components, excellent price and good testimonials.
Any good/bad experiences with them?
Lastly here are the system specs:
ASUS A7N8X-DX Deluxe MB (Fastest board from reviews)
420 Watt Power Supply - Thermal temp LCD display on case
AMD Barton XP 2500+ (Price point seems to be the sweetest)
1 gig of DDR-400
WD Special Edition 120 GB 7200 8mb cache HD
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128 mbs
16x DVD
52x24x52 CD-RW
Creative Labs Audigy-2 6.1
Creative Labs Inspire 5200 5.1 Speakers (Just for fun - I wear headphones)
10/100 onboard LAN
Microsoft Optical mouse/Internet Keyboard/Round Cables for all wiring/Windows XP
I am getting a price of 1695.00 for above and a few small other things.
Please be brutal on the system. It is going to be used for gaming and our 3d animation work.
I am trying to hit the sweet spot between performance and price.
Finally, is it worth to wait till September/October for the Athlon 64? Or should I get a Pentium 4 system now and have the ability to upgrade the cpu later on? Seems like the AMD 3200+ is the last chip they will make. How fast do you think the P 4 will get?
Thanks for your help!
Justin
