I am ordering parts for my new computer tonight and tomorrow I will order the motherboard. Right now I have an E6750 cpu. I want to get to around 3.6ghz with it (using the thermalright ultima 90 heatsink). I am thinking about keeping it for a little bit and then early next year buying a new quad core and then overclocking that a little bit.

What motherboard would you recommend for me? Would I be set with the Abit IP35-Pro or maybe a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R? What would you suggest? I will also be using DDR2-1000 ram so OCing my ram isn't really a factor. Thanks.

There's no such thing as a truly future proof mobo. That said, just about any P35 board will run what you have and run the new 45nm chips Intel will release through next year.

I switched over to an Abit IP35 Pro from an Intel BX2 a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. The Intel board was rock solid at stock but was a bit of a pain to OC. The Abit mobo OCs very easily and is also rock solid. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.
