I need some advice on my future. I started college as an architecture student, without realizing what the job market is for graduating architects, very poor. After my first year I began to aggressively pursue an architectural/ structural engineering degree as well, both because it interests me and as a fall back career just in case architecture fails to produce a good job.
Now currently, I am going to graduate with a high GPA in my engineering curriculum, (not so high in architecture) and I would like to pursue an MBA in finance afterwards. Is this a good option? If I would like to get the company I work for to pay for it, how would I find a company that would do so? I am assuming that I would have to work for maybe a year (probably working as an engineering consultant probably for a financial institution), and then they would pay for me to get my MBA in the evenings perhaps.
I am assuming that an purely engineering firm would have little interest in me returning to school for an MBA. How often is this done, if at all, especially for someone in my field? Where are some places I could look to find out more? Thanks in advance for any advice.
