I'm writing a speech for my advanced composition class (no, i'm not in high school, *sigh*), and chose my topic to be the fact that personal computing is moving into a parallel direction. Partly because we're approaching the physical limit of how many transistors we can fit on a chip (i think i last heard 25nm electron gate limit? -- we're at what now? 90?). And partly because lets face it, people just don't need more than a (call it) 1Ghz proc to check their email and do a powerpoint. What they do need is the ability to open outlook and excel at the same time w/o slowing down the whole computer.
so.... i've been googling and database searching for like an hour without much success. Can anyone point me to an article/journal/whatever (i need something in the past 6 mos) that can verify any of my claims? or am i just dead wrong?
I also think a keynote speech by Gates or Jobs or someone else who's a clear "expert" in the field would be fine.
thanks!
