I was wondering, what kind of a system can be built in September of 2005 for about $1500. I was all set to buy parts but a financing emergency has forced me to wait. Now all I can do is wonder and I want to get an idea of what to expect so I can hold out until fall.

by that time dual core processors should be out. you could probably get a lower-end dual core at a decent price, but dependent the brand you'll need to be careful about motherboards. the new ati r520 chip should be out by then, so you should also be able to find a decent mid-range vid card.
