Future of facial recognition

Facial recognition software is useful a tool for many security reasons, and that is getting more and more accurate. Also facial recognition software will be used to selectively advertise to us, just as it does when you go on the internet. And then it will certainly, like anything else technology based or not, be abused by criminals.

Picture yourself walking down the street and an electronic billboard flashes an ad customized just for you. Will AdBlocker Plus have an app to block this? Or perhaps a criminal is looking for someone on the street who has a 401k plan or a nice house in the city, and decides to rob or kidnap him or her, based on what Big Data reports to him.

What do you see as the pros and cons of facial recognition?

Ubiquitous tracking and logging of movement from the time you wake to the time you sleep. I haven't figured a way to beat it without looking ridiculous, or looking like a terrorist. I might be willing to change as it becomes ore prevalent though.

Wouldn't it be easier just to rob their house?

Might help the criminal to know if 2 pitbulls are guarding the house.
