Future MSI K7T Turbo (KT133A) buyers: Might not be able to run 100 MHz Athlons/Duron at 133MHz!

Have you ever thought that you might not be able to change to lower multiplier of your CPU using this future board? Because both MSI K7TPro2 or K7TPro2-A doesn't have any multiplier options lower than the CPU default. My 1Gig Athlon only have 10, 10.5, 11, 11.5, 12, 12.5.

But the settings exist if you use for example a 700Mhz Tbird, so theoretically, the board supports these multipliers. Maybe a bios update is just what the doctor ordered. :)

My friend's Duron 650 on a MSI K7TPro2 doesn't have a multiplier options lower than the default 6.5.

Biggs, are you saying that Athlon 700 has all posible multiplier options?

Without an extreme cooling, I don't think that any 1 Gig Athlon will stably run at 1330MHz (10X133).

Now who says Duron cant run 133MHz if the multiplier is not lowered?

Im pretty damn certain the Durons can overclock to 133 with ease, just like P3s, without the need of lowering multiplier.

Same thing. But 1.1 and 1.2GHz will probably be a little bit to hard to hit 133MHz. If MSI comes out with a newer BIOS for the K7T Turbo then everything will be solved.

Yes, I hope they will implement this feature in the future BIOS release.

This one seems okay.

It is possible to change the processor bus clock in 1 MHz steps and now the processor multiplier does not need to be altered with the jumpers, but can be chosen in the BIOS-setup between x5 and x12.5 as well.

And I love Asus' BIOS UI.
