Future Intel boards experience incompatabilites, instability, and IRQ conflicts?

I keep seeing AMD bashing over user, OS, software, and driver issues.

I thought maybe you future INTEL users might like to see what you might experience in the future.

Excerpts from Aces hardware.

"PIII when combined with the Via Apollo Pro266 chipset and DDR SDRAM. "

"While we did not have any problems with the DDR SDRAM memory system, the beta northbridge drivers
didn't seem to work very well with the Detonator 3 drivers from NVIDIA. We have been able to run
benchmarks, but it has taken us quite a while. The SoundBlaster Live we used for game benchmarking wasn't
very happy, either, and caused the system to freeze quite a few times. I had to fiddle with IRQ settings,
different drivers, and so forth."

Hmmmm. sounds familiar doesn't it alnoor???

That would be a board problem in a (probably) so far unreleased board. When you find something like this on something which has actually been publicly released, related to the actual processor rather then the board, and a link to the actual article, that would be interesting.

What I'm saying is that you're comparing Athlon processors to boards which USE PIIIs, not defective PIIIs. There's a big difference.

I'm not copmparing anything. I'm just slinging mud at the mudlslingers :) The article writer experienced problems similar to problems inexperienced AMD based system builders are having.

Saying it is Intels fault that this article writer had an IRQ and driver conflict is just ludicrous (insert tyson voice). But, that is exactly what the anti-AMD mudslingers are doing.

Intel is tripping right now, but they will get it together I am sure. The competition is interesting and it benefits us all.
