Just wondering how many people know of the company called Future Electronics. They are international, although their headquarters are based in Montreal, Quebec.

Just answer yes or no! Actually, I'll just make a poll.

well, digi-key, mouser, and newark have a combined 26 reviews on reseller ratings. If you aren't an electrical engineer, you have very little reason for ordering from any of them.

My company has ordered from Future before.

When I worked for an EE dept during my internship, they ordered a lot of parts from Future.

sciencewhiz and jmcoreymv - thanks for your input! If you don't mind me asking, what did you or your company think of Future? Are they a good company? I know 2-3 people who work there and they've all worked there for many years. However, I've known a few people who had bad things to say about them as well.

Just trying to get a better perspective of the company.

Yes I have a friend that use to work there and acquaintance that still works there. The one that use to work there was thrilled when they laid him off. He hated working there. His group was full of backstabbing bastards. The one that still works there well he is a backstabbing bastard. :)

I also had a few interviews there when I finished school. Seemed like an ok place.

They have several large offices in Montreal so I guess they can't be doing to bad.

Ok I just noticed that you live in Montreal. So I guess your looking at working there.

I interviewed with the IT department. I like they guys that I talked to.

The friend that did not like working there was the manager for one of the product lines. Based on what he had to say about the place I certainly would not want to work there.

The one that's still working their is in the legal department.

My internship was only for a total of 6 months (over two summers), and I didn't directly interact with the company usually (sometimes I'd call to check the status of an order). All the distributors we worked with were very nice because they didn't want to lose our account.

Wow, I never heard of that about them! I'm not a backstabbing bastard, does that mean I wouldn't do well working there? :p

I only called them once, to get some samples. I called our local distributor, and the number was disconnected. Then I called the next closest distributor who told me to call the main office in Canada.

Once I got through to the right people, it was fine. But, that was the distributors faults, not Future's necessarily.

We ordered from Future when they were cheaper then our other suppliers. If they went out of business, it wouldn't affect us too much, but we like having the options.
